If you're planning on going on a holiday, be it Business, Visiting Friends and Relatives or Leisure, you'll certainly need accommodation. You should always tailor your accommodation around your budget and around your plans, so think carefully. A useful accommodation guide is below:
There are three principal types of accommodation - Business, Budget (which are both types of serviced accommodation) and Non-Serviced accommodation.

Business Accommodation/Budget Accommodation (Serviced Accommodation)
Whether you're an inbound, outbound or domestic travelling businessperson, it's important to find a hotel in which you can work if necessary, but at the right price. If you're a businessperson, you will probably not need the hotel's facilities as often as other types of travellers, so we recommend a budget/chain hotel, a "no-frills" offering which allows you to eat and sleep. It's likely that, for the best part of the day, you will be working in another place, so entertainments are not a necessity.
Some examples of budget/chain hotels include:
Holiday Inn
Premier Inn
Travelodge
In the major urban areas, there's almost guaranteed to be at least one of the hotels above. The best part is, because these hotels are all part of national chains, they all have websites with an online booking facility, with options for payment using credit/debit cards, which saves a precious businessperson's time even further.

Non-Serviced Accommodation
Maybe you're looking for a different type of holiday experience, where you can take total control of what you eat, when you return to your hotel and choice over your whole holiday experience. If this is the case, then Non-Serviced Accommodation is for you.
Non-Serviced accommodation is a lot cheaper than serviced accommodation because it removes the extras from your holiday, and it lets you take control over what you want to do. You're not tied to meal times back at the hotel, but facilities are provided for you to cook your own food, and most of the day is yours to do whatever you like with.
Some example of Non-Serviced Accommodation are
Haven Holiday Parks
Butlins Holiday Parks
Pontins Holiday Parks
These three camps are great for families with kids, because there are plenty of facilities to keep them occupied, including indoor and outdoor play facilities, and they also allow parents to relax and enjoy some time to themselves, knowing that the kids are happy and, most importantly, safe within the site. And, like the major national Serviced Accommodation chains above, they also have booking facilities online, saving time and money too. Haven is also a national company, but Butlins and Pontins have both scaled back their number of parks in recent years, to just three and five respectively.
