Introduction to Travel and Tourism
It's easy to underestimate how important the Travel and Tourism industry is to our economy. In fact, it is the sixth largest sector of industry in the UK, it employs almost 1 in 11 people and generates £115 billion of revenue for the UK economy every year. Over 80% of the 249,000 businesses in the T&T sector employ less than 10 people too. Revenues for the Travel and Tourism industry is increasing year on year, according to statistics released by the Tourism Alliance in 2012.

Travel - Make a journey, typically of some length or abroad

Private Sector Organisation - A part of the economy that is not owned by the government; it is owned by individuals and companies for profit.
